Field Trip, Bear Tree Park

It’s actually the day before our trip to Bear Tree Park; a facility that remains an anomaly in Korea. While I know it is premature, I can’t help but express that I cherish high hopes for this place, and for the potential it may hold for the future.

For those who do not know of Bear Tree Park:

80 bears reside at Bear Tree Park

The park is actually a converted bear farm and the owners apparently possess vision beyond bear bile farming.

The facility has become a lavishly furnished tourist attraction, abundent with lush Japanese-inspired gardens. There are souvenir shops and restaurants and a banquet hall. There are also some serious issues. We have higher hopes than those of a commercial nature for its future.

Tomorrow we will see it for the first time. Stay tuned for our account.
